The gold embroidery was very much a part of court culture in the deccan during the 16th century and believed to have originated prior to that period. Zardozi is a distinctive style of stitching and known for an elaborate metalic embroidery. It is versatile and used to adorn different apparels like salwar suits, lehenga and other ethnic wears including wall hangings. Here, the movement of threaded needle is guided by a variety of stitches. The women artisans bring needle and thread together to weave on precious fabrics to bring liveliness in it. The artisans use metal bound threads to sew embellishments on fabrics. The human skill of artisans to embroider thread over thread with fine silk, gold or silver threads and different colours to get hues and shades is one of the uniqueness of this artistic work. Besides the sarees, suits,
dupattas, and lehangas, Jackets, shirts, long skirts, and longer
